80, day by day, this is the number that we get when we unlock our smartphone… or every twelve minutes when we are awake. Thereby, a simple question arises : isn’t the relationship between our phones and the social networks too important ?
Yes is the answer.
Indeed, 480000 tweets are sent every minutes in the World and 2.4 million photos or selfies of Snapchat too. Furthermore, we get 4.3 million views on YouTube, 11 million swipe on Tinder and 317000 photos or videos are posted on Facebook.
Each application as you can see here are noticed to catch our entire attention and drive us addict.
And, do you know why ? No ? Because since 1996, the art of capturing our intention has a name who’s : the captology. This is the study of persuasive technologies, of which its inventor published in 2003 a work called Persuasive Technology.
Thanks to these informations in this book, we understand that each notification releases a hormone which is : dopamine, more precisely the pleasure hormone. Engineers who are working on these applications know it and play with it on us.

That explains our indestructible relationship between the social network and us and why they are so important to us.
