Among young people, the sending of sexual photos and videos is widespread. It's a new way of looking at intimacy.
So we're going to ask ourselves, with the period of confinement, wouldn't this practice be in its "golden age" ?

This practice is representative of the change in consumption through social networks. Sexting is defined as "the sending of sexually explicit and suggestive text messages, photos or videos sent or received through new technologies".

In France, the subject is not taboo, but it is not frequently mentioned. There are few studies on this subject.
In 2017, Michelle Drouin, a teacher-researcher at Indiana University (USA), conducted a study on sexting among students at her institution ("Is sexting good for relationships? It depends").
By her sample of students averaging 19.7 years of age, 62% reported having sent or received a "sexually explicit photo". "This is part of sexuality in the 21st century" says the psychologist, who specializes in the relationship between technology and sexuality.
